Abstract

A liderança feminina é uma temática que tem vindo a sofrer algumas mudanças ao longos dos anos. Cada vez mais as mulheres vão conseguindo ter alguma representação em vários setores da sociedade. Um caminho muito longo foi traçado para que as mulheres conseguissem obter algum tipo de representação na sociedade e pudessem decidir as questões da sociedade e sobre a sua vida. Começaram por apenas serem consideradas donas de casa e como cuidadoras dos seus filhos, mas com o passar dos anos as mulheres queriam alcançar mais e começaram a reivindicar os seus direitos e a lutar por eles. A partir da sua luta, muitas coisas foram conquistadas e, com o passar dos anos, passaram a ocupar cargos de liderança e a serem consideradas boas líderes. O setor hoteleiro, por si só, é um setor complexo, com horários rotativos e com a necessidade de adaptação por parte de quem trabalha neste setor, por isso liderar um hotel ou qualquer organização relacionada com este setor não é fácil. A liderança feminina na hotelaria ainda é um percurso a ser feito, não um percurso longo pois, várias mudanças foram feitas até ao momento, mas ainda existem algumas questões de discriminação entre géneros o que faz com que as coisas, por vezes, não resultem para as mulheres. Em suma, várias mudanças têm vindo a ser feitas, em vários setores e em várias organizações, e as mulheres têm uma melhor representação na sociedade.

Female leadership is a topic that has undergone some changes over the years. More and more women are managing to have some representation in various sectors of society. A very long path has been traced for women to obtain some kind of representation in society and to be able to decide issues in society and in their lives. At first, they were only considered housewives and caregivers for their children, but over the years women wanted to achieve more and began to claim their rights and fight for them. With the fight for their rights, many things were conquered and, over the years, they began to occupy leadership positions and to be considered good leaders. The hotel sector, in itself, is a complex sector, with rotating schedules and with the need for adaptation on the part of those who work in this sector, which is why leading a hotel or any organization related to this sector is not easy. Female leadership in the hospitality industry is still a journey to be made, not a long one, as several changes have been made so far, but there are still some issues of gender discrimination which sometimes make things not work out for the women. In short, several changes have been made, in several sectors and in several organizations, and women have a better representation in society nowadays.
