Arquitectura do mar : herança militar

Abstract

Based on a factual and scientific analysis of the future environmental indicators, in more detail those that affect the sea, the global ocean and consequently the world's coastlines, this theoretical study intends to expose what is expected of the planet's behavior in its hydrosphere and the architectural capacity that the human-being, the architect, has when his field of operation is in the aquatic environment, what has been achieved in the past summarized in case studies located off the island of Great Britain, on the Solent narrow, the Humber estuary and the Thames estuary, the present of this construction that lies essentially on oil rigs and the future that points to a practice beyond the regular, a daily practice to which the architect will have to adapt.
