Abstract

A Segunda Guerra Mundial é uma tema que sempre me despertou interesse. A sua importância no panorama mundial e o posterior processo de reconstrução material ou política foi algo que sempre me fascinou. Na Arquitectura, intrigou-me a presença maciça de sistemas de fortificações alemãs em betão armado. Sistemas constituídos por objectos enigmáticos cuja valorização estética não pode fazer esquecer as histórias de sofrimento quer dos trabalhadores forçados que as erigiram, quer das milhões de pessoas que pereceram antes e durante a Guerra. Vestígios arquitectónicos de um passado sombrio hoje reutilizados em países promotores da liberdade individual.
