A arquitectura vernacular possui características especificas que reflectem a cultura de um povo, a sua Localização geográfica e os factores climáticos Iocais. Estas características influenciaram gerações, que através de tentativas e erros encontraram os materiais e as técnicas construtivas que melhorassem a habitabilidade interna das habitações. Estas escolhas fazem com que actualmente se considere a arquitectura vernacular como sustentável. De forma a se preservar a arquitectura vernacular e os ensinamentos relacionados, têm sido conjugados esforços nas décadas recentes. Estes revelam-se nas cartas internacionais de salvaguarda do património, as quais referem a importância da preservação da cultura e conhecimentos construtivos. Um dos mecanismos utilizados em Portugal para a conservação da arquitectura vernacular tem sido a aposta do turismo no espaço rural. Os programas criados neste âmbito permitem também o desenvolvimento local, ao voltarem a dar importância ao património cultural e à preservação do ambiente, entre outros factores. As razões do sucesso prendem-se com diversas variáveis, sendo crucial a ligação sinergética entre os habitantes e as associações dedicadas à revitalização dos aglomerados. O caso de estudo proposto apoia-se nos pressupostos da valorização patrimonial e nas intervenções jé realizadas, de forma a ilustrar a sua exequibilidade. A intervenção, de alojamento temporário, seria um exemplo para que no futuro se concertassem esforços de dinamização local na âmbito das Aldeias de Portugal.

Abstract: The vernacular architecture possesses specific characteristics which are the effect of culture, geographic location and climate. These factors influenced generations, whom through trial and error found the materials and construction techniques that enabled an improved internal comfort of the dwellings. The aforementioned choices contributed to an evolution of thought, and nowadays the vernacular architecture is seen as a sustainable one. In order to preserve the vernacular architecture and the embedded knowledge, several efforts have been mobilized for the past decades. Those are seen in the heritage charters, which refer the importance cf the preservation of the culture and construction knowledge. One of the mechanisms used in Portugal in order to preserve the vernacular architecture is the tourism in rural space. The programs created allow the local development; this happens because it is given importance to the cultural heritage and to the environmental preservation, amongst other factors. The reasons for the success are related te several variables, being crucial the synergistic link between the inhabitants and the associations dedicated te the revitalization of the clusters. The proposed project is backed up by the theoretical documentation, as well by projects already implemented, in order to illustrate its practicability. The intervention, of temporary accommodation, would be an example for future efforts of local regeneration, under the Aldeias de Portugal program.
