Abstract

A partir do final do século XX a identidade da adega tem vindo a sofrer mudanças significativas. A presente dissertação desenvolve-se a partir de uma abordagem de âmbito nacional, contextualizando a história da produção de vinho e o tipo de edifício associado à mesma ao longo dos tempos. Desde o carácter vernacular de um espaço, construído por necessidade e integrado na habitação, característico da maioria das regiões ligadas ao meio rural em Portugal, ao carácter contemporâneo de uma obra da autoria de um arquitecto, que associa a indústria da produção de vinho à promoção turística, actuando como elemento impulsionador das marcas produtoras e do território em que estas estão inseridas. De modo a ilustrar a articulação do conceito do Enoturismo com a Arquitectura serão apresentadas três obras, consideradas de referência nesta temática, sendo que duas são em Portugal e representam as duas zonas de maior actividade vitivinícola – o Douro e o Alentejo – e a terceira situa-se numa das capitais mundiais do vinho – a Califórnia. O presente trabalho procura reunir as principais referências da redefinição destes espaços industriais, igualmente associados a uma forte componente cultural e tradicional.
