Abstract

La medición de índices de madurez de forma no invasiva es un área altamente estudiada ya que está es una excelente herramieta para controlar la calidad de los productos agricolas, Saranwong presentó resultados aceptables para la caracterización de la madurez de mango de forma objetiva mediante el conteo de las lenticelas, sin embargo este método solo puede ser aplicado a mangos. La espectroscopia de infrarrojo cercano (Near Infrared Spectroscopy NIRS) ha sido usada para la evaluación de la calidad de diversas frutas frescas tales como peras, mandarinas, manzanas, aguacates y kiwis [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]. Y estudios previos han mostrado que la NIRS es una técnica que promete calcular los grados BRIX (cociente total de sacarosa disuelta en un liquido) y la materia seca para evaluar la calidad del mango sin dañarlo En el caso particular del aguacate, su calidad se determina en base a índices empíricos como son el conteo de los días después de la oración, verificación del color o recurrir a presionar la fruta con los dedos para determinar el estado de maduración; lo que conlleva a imprecisiones o daño de la fruta. Los índices objetivos son la determinación de materia seca y cantidad de aceite, ambos destructivos, además la medición de cantidad de aceite es muy costosa.
