Efecto de la Petiveria alliacea en el tratamiento de alergias respiratorias en Rattus norvegicus cepa Wistar

Abstract

La Petiveria alliacea es una planta utilizada en diferentes estudios, en donde ha sido efectiva para las patologías respiratorias en el humano, obteniendo resultados satisfactorios. Las Rattus norvegicus cepa Wistar (RncW) son susceptibles a partículas pequeñas como el polvo o el aserrín, produciendo en ellas enfermedades respiratorias; por ende, en este proyecto se elaboró un extracto alcohólico de hojas y tallos jóvenes de la P. alliacea para suministrarlo a las RncW que presentaron signos respiratorios alérgicos producidos por aserrín cernido. Se formaron tres grupos, dos de los grupos formadoporr los animales con los signos respiratorios y el tercero por animales sin signos respiratorios. El extracto alcohólico de hojas y tallos jóvenes de la P. alliacea se administró vía oral en un grupo de animales con síntomas respiratorios alérgicos y el otro con animales clínicamente sanos. Para la detección de la posible mejoría de estos animales se realizó un examen clínico e histopatología. Los animales con síntomas respiratorios alérgicos que se les suministro anamú presentaron una disminución de los síntomas y no se encontraron hallazgos histopatológicos.
