Abstract

Este proyecto desea determinar qué características pictóricas ha tenido la percepción de lo femenino y su influencia en la construcción de género. Históricamente, las características visuales imperantes sobre lo femenino han sido determinadas por hombres, dado que han sido ellos quienes han producido y validado el discurso pictórico a lo largo de la mayor parte de la historia occidental. La aparición paulatina de mujeres dentro de la producción del discurso pictórico ha marcado cambios en la percepción visual y la construcción de género alrededor de la mujer. Estos cambios se exploraron a través de la apropiación de autorretratos femeninos por medio de composiciones fotográficas. Estas composiciones nacen de la tensión entre los flujos discursivos de la interpretación de la artista original, la concepción visual sobre lo femenino en la época particular y la reinterpretación de quien realiza el proyecto. De esta manera se ha obtenido un conjunto fotográfico que comunica y reivindica la mirada de las mujeres acerca de ellas y su propia construcción de género.
