Abstract

Uno de los principales paradigmas en que se enmarca la tecnología moderna es la de realizar los procesos de fabricación empleando cada vez menos energía. Esto produce una reducción de los costos operacionales proporcionando un aporte no despreciable a las organizaciones en aras de incrementar las utilidades del ejercicio productivo. En el caso de un sistema eléctrico de distribución un análisis objetivo de la operación del mismo, destaca aspectos como eficiencia, localización optima de componentes y la habilidad para soportar contingencias durante el servicio, una maniobra o la incidencia de un agente externo. Para realizar este análisis objetivo, ya no es necesario elaborar complejos desarrollos matemáticos ó enfrascarse en tortuosos procesos de prueba y error; actualmente se dispone de herramientas de simulación de gran utilidad que permiten planificar los cambios, realizarlos, verificar la respuesta del sistema y finalmente comparar los beneficios obtenidos, antes de implementar una solución. La precisión de los resultados obtenidos depende de la eficacia de la simulación.
