Abstract

La coiloniquia es una condición de las uñas donde se produce una concavidad transversa y longitudinal con adelgazamiento. Estas alteraciones son producto de cambios en el tejido conectivo. el tejido subyacente puede encontrarse normal o estar afectado por una hiperqueratosis subungueal en el margen distal. En estadios iniciales las uñas tiene aspecto aplanado, luego los bordes se invierten hacia arriba que las hace tomar una forma cóncava, razón por la cual han recibido el nombre conocido de uñas en cuchara.
