Observatorio de movilidad vial

Abstract

El Grupo de Investigación Sirius de la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira, con el apoyo de Colciencias, tiene a cargo el diseño de un prototipo de Observatorio de Movilidad Vial (OMV) en la ciudad de Pereira. El OMV busca medir las variables más relevantes del tráfico, de manera tal que pueda modelarlas tanto espacial como temporalmente, para luego, basados en los datos obtenidos, simular múltiples escenarios, idear nuevas estrategias que permitan un continuo mejoramiento de la movilidad en la ciudad, evaluar el impacto real de dichas estrategias y, por último, tener un sistema de semaforización dinámico, capaz de adaptarse en tiempo real a los cambios de demanda. Este trabajo se divide en cuatro partes fundamentales, primero, un sistema de medición de variables de trafico basado en estrategias de visión por computador aplicadas al video adquirido en tiempo real por cámaras IP ubicadas en las intersecciones a evaluar, segundo, un sistema de comunicación que permita transferir tanto los datos adquiridos por el sistema de medición como el mismo video en tiempo real, tercero, un Sistema de Información Geográfica SIG capaz de recibir los datos de las diferentes intersecciones implementadas, y finalmente, un sistema de visualización en el cual se pueda identificar el estado del trafico en tiempo real, los históricos de las variables medidas y el video de las intersecciones.
