Introducción: La sedación es un pilar del manejo del paciente bajo ventilación mecánica invasiva. En el periodo de pandemia, el sistema de salud enfrentó el desabastecimiento de sedantes. Existe escasa literatura de las experiencias de manejo farmacológico en pacientes con SDRA secundario a infección por COVID-19 que requirieron VMI. Objetivo: Calcular el riesgo de desarrollar complicaciones durante la atención de pacientes con SDRA severo asociado a COVID-19 en el tiempo de desabastecimiento de sedantes en pacientes bajo ventilación mecánica invasiva sometidos a diferentes esquemas de sedación en los dos primeros años de la pandemia.
