Abstract

Los perezosos didáctilos Choloepus Hoffmann y Choloepus didactylus, hacen parte del mismo género y del suborden Folivora. Estos animales habitan estrictamente en los árboles, evitando así depredadores terrestres como el jaguar, la anaconda, el puma, entre otros. Estos mamíferos bajan de los árboles una vez por semana para excretar sus desechos, en el cual gran variedad de insectos encuentra un entorno propicio para su reproducción, adicional a lo anterior, el perezoso es un gran dispersor de semillas y su pelaje provee un ambiente ideal para la vida de ciertas especies de polillas y algas. En la actualidad, la anatomía de estos especímenes ha sido poco investigada, lo cual hace necesario el estudio adecuado de estas especies...
