Retribución emocional

Retribución emocional

Abstract

The last economic and financial crisis that we have experienced for years, has had serious consequences in working conditions in Spain. The labor reform of 2012 worsened the labor precariousness to obtain the recovery of the economy, the decrease of up to 10 porcentage points in the rate of unemployment, according to the EPA of the third quarter of 2018. However, these measures of austerity, along with other factors such as globalization and technological advances are affecting the labor market and the risk in the competitiveness of our economy due to the digital talent gap. Spain occupies the fourteenth position of the countries belonging to the EU1, “despite the fact that a growing number of Spaniards use the Internet, the levels of digital and advanced skills are still lower tan the EU’s average”, according to the DESI 2018 report for Spain. The effects of digitization are evident in the organization of work and are causing serious problems to attract and retain digital talent. The complexity and the uncertainty of this singular context force to change the culture of the organizations to manage the different intergerenational attitudes, that already coexist in the same labor ecosystem. The concept of emotional retribution to attract and retain loyalty is particularly important. The aim of this paper is to highlight the impact that simple and sometimes intangible actions, for the motivation, commitment and performance of the people have at work
