Abstract

Introducción: El propósito de este estudio es evaluar la eficacia de los drenajes autotransfusores postoperatorios en la artroplastia total de rodilla primaria (ATR). Analizar si con su uso se minimiza la caída de la hemoglobina postoperatoria reduciéndose el número de transfusiones sanguíneas alogénicas. Material y métodos: Estudio retrospectivo, analítico observacional. Se analizaron 100 ATR desde enero de 2014 a enero de 2015 en el Hospital Dr. Peset. Para el estudio de evaluó preoperatoria y postoperatoriamente los valores analíticos de sangrado comparando los resultados de los pacientes reinfundidos con los no, las necesidades de sangre homóloga y los complementos farmacológicos recibidos. Además se estudiaron las complicaciones postoperatorias. Resultados: Se reinfundieron 50 ATR con un volumen medio de 505 ml. La necesidad de transfusión de sangre alogénica en los pacientes reinfundidos fue de un 4% mientras que en los pacientes no reinfundidos fue de un 24%. Las necesidades de hierro oral y endovenoso disminuyeron en los pacientes reinfundidos. Conclusiones: El redón autotransfusor es una técnica segura y sencilla con la que se mejora el rendimiento analítico postransfusional y por consiguiente se reducen el número de transfusiones alogénicas.
