Abstract

The film festivals are a shop windows for young directors, producers and filmmakers, for the society and fans of the cinema’s world. There are a cultural meeting point, where its participants have the opportunity to merge into professionals filmmakers. The organization and administration of this type of events, is a very difficult job that doesn’t exist manuals. It requires months of preparation, with a team of professionals normally dedicated to promoting the culture from the city to the rest of the world. That is what we will be exposed in this work. The starting point for this research is located in the municipality of Elche, which has given rise to one of the first independent film festivals internationally, and the oldest film festival in the Valencian Community, the International Festival of Independent Cinema of Elche (FICIE, 1978). But this city, also has two younger festivals: The Elche Fantastic Film Festival (FANTA Elx, 2013), and the Mostra de Cinema Jove d’Elx (1998).
