El Robot Journalism y su uso en las empresas informativas

Abstract

La automatización de noticias, denominada Robot Journalism, ha generado un cambio significativo en la industria periodística, mayoritariamente en sectores de gran relevancia informativa, como la cobertura financiera y los informes de mercado. Medios como Associated Press (AP), líder en esta revolución, han implementado sistemas de creación automática de contenido que facilitan la producción de noticias de manera ágil, exacta y a gran escala. AP, Bloomberg o El País han conseguido ajustar esta tecnología con el fin de ampliar su cobertura, disminuir gastos y potenciar la eficiencia en las operaciones, evidenciando que la automatización puede coexistir con el periodismo humano al enriquecer su trabajo en campos de análisis y control. No obstante, la automatización también presenta desafíos, desde dilemas éticos hasta la preservación de la calidad y exactitud en la información, elementos que este estudio examinará a fondo para entender el efecto y las consecuencias del Robot Journalism en el porvenir del periodismo.

News automation, known as Robot Journalism, has brought about a significant change in the news industry, particularly in highly newsworthy sectors such as financial coverage and market reporting. News media such as the Associated Press (AP), leader in this revolution, have implemented automated content creation systems that enable them to produce news quickly, accurately and on a large scale. AP, Bloomberg or El País have managed to adjust this technology in order to expand their coverage, reduce costs and increase efficiency in operations, demonstrating that automation can coexist with human journalism by enriching their work in the fields of analysis and control. However, automation also presents challenges, from ethical dilemmas to the preservation of quality and accuracy in reporting, elements that this study will examine in depth to understand the effect and consequences of Robot Journalism on the future of journalism.
