Incorporación de un programa de apoyo nutricional en la atención farmacéutica de pacientes VIH en tratamiento antrirretroviral activo.

Abstract

Aunque se ha producido un cambio radical en la situación de los pacientes infectados por el VIH desde la aparición del tratamiento antirretroviral de gran actividad (TARGA), esto no se traduce en la desaparición de trastornos nutricionales. La incorporación de un programa de apoyo nutricional en la atención farmacéutica a pacientes con infección VIH, que incluya valoración, educación nutricional y seguimiento contribuye a mejorar el estado nutricional del enfermo lo cual repercute en la eficacia de su tratamiento ya que el mantenimiento de un óptimo estado de salud nutricional es necesario para mantener un buen nivel de salud así como mejora la calidad de vida del paciente.
