Tratamiento de electrólisis percutánea intratisular en la fascitis plantar

Abstract

La fascitis plantar se trata de una patología común en el pie, que cursa con un proceso inflamatorio de la fascia plantar. La causa más común es la mecánica. En ésta patología, nos encontramos multitud de técnicas de tratamiento. Una de los más novedosos e interesantes tratamientos es la EPI (electrólisis percutánea en la fascitis plantar). Esta técnica consiste en la aplicación de una corriente continua a través de una aguja de acupuntura que actúa como un electrodo y que provoca una reacción electroquímica en la región estimulada. Mediante este trabajo se propone un estudio aleatorizado de un grupo placebo y un grupo control tratado con EPI, que demuestre cuantitativamente la mejora de la fascitis plantar con el tratamiento de EPI. Es un método novedoso y eficaz, con un mecanismo de acción similar al tratamiento de las ondas de choque.
