Abstract

Introducción: El dolor pélvico crónico (DPC) afecta a entre el 5,7% y el 26,6% de las mujeres a nivel mundial. La dispareunia (dolor provocado en las relaciones sexuales) es común, con una prevalencia del 8% en mujeres y del 35% en el posparto, especialmente en el periodo climatérico. Esto puede reducir la calidad de vida y el bienestar de las mujeres, por lo que es crucial investigar terapias efectivas como la radiofrecuencia y el ejercicio terapéutico, que pueden proporcionar estabilidad y alivio del dolor en la zona. Objetivos: Evaluar si el ejercicio terapéutico y la radiofrecuencia son o no efectivas para reducir el dolor pélvico o la dispareunia y mejorar la calidad de vida de las pacientes. Material y métodos: Se ha realizado una búsqueda de ensayos clínicos publicados a partir de 2010 en las bases de datos Pubmed, PeDro y SciELO . Estos artículos muestran resultados sobre el efecto de la radiofrecuencia y el ejercicio terapéutico en el dolor pélvico y la dispareunia. Resultados : Se revisan 9 artículos de los cuales 3 estudian el efecto de la radiofrecuencia sobre el dolor pélvico o dispareunia y 6 de ellos el ejercicio terapéutico. Conclusiones: Existe evidencia moderada de que ambas terapias son beneficiosas. La radiofrecuencia es útil para reducir la inflamación y el dolor en etapas agudas, mientras que el ejercicio terapéutico es versátil y adaptable a diferentes etapas del tratamiento.

Introduction: Chronic pelvic pain (CPD) affects between 5.7% and 26.6% of women worldwide. Dyspareunia (pain caused by sexual intercourse) is common, with a prevalence of 8% in women and 35% in postpartum, especially in the climactic period. This can reduce the quality of life and well-being of women, so it is crucial to investigate effective therapies such as radiofrequency and therapeutic exercise, which can provide stability and pain relief in the área. Objectives: Evaluate whether therapeutic exercise and radiofrequency are effective or not to reduce pelvic pain or dyspareunia and improve the quality of life of patients. Material and Methods: A search has been conducted for clinical trials published since 2010 in the databases Pubmed, PeDro and SciELO . These articles show results on the effect of radiofrequency and therapeutic exercise on pelvic pain and dyspareunia. Results: We reviewed 9 articles of which 3 studied the effect of radiofrequency on pelvic pain or dyspareunia and 6 of them therapeutic exercise. Conclusions: There is moderate evidence that both therapies are beneficial. Radiofrequency is useful for reducing inflammation and pain in acute stages, while therapeutic exercise is versatile and adaptable to different stages of treatment.
