Abstract

Online self-harm is a multi-causal problem that is increasing alarmingly in the adolescent population. Currently, the literature regarding the casuistry of online self-harm is limited. For this reason, the present work aims to design a prevention program entitled "No te enredes", aimed at the First Course of Compulsory Secondary Education of a school in the province of Alicante. It is designed to engage the educational community, including family and teachers. During the eight sessions that make up the program, the protective and risk factors associated with this problem in the general population will be worked on, in order to reduce the probability of self-harm online. A pre and post evaluation is included, to check the effectiveness of the program. This proposal is innovative due to the limitation of the lack of scientific study on online self-harm. Consequently, is taken as a starting point for the development of the program; Nock's Integrative Model (2010) and programs that have shown their effectiveness in preventing Suicidal Behavior and Non-Suicidal Self-injury (NSSI). Likewise, it is proposed in future lines of research to analyze in an exhaustive way the development and functionality of online self-harm.
