El presente trabajo tiene como objeto la investigación y análisis de la figura jurídica del silencio administrativo, así como su aplicación en materia de licencias urbanísticas. Para ello, se estudiará su origen y evolución en nuestro ordenamiento jurídico, su regulación en el ámbito urbanístico, así como el posible efecto perjudicial que puede ocasionar en el medio ambiente la concesión de licencias mediante su estimación por silencio administrativo
