Tratamiento con fagos para bacterias multirresistentes

Abstract

Introducción: Uno de los grandes problemas de la actualidad es la resistencia bacteriana a los antimicrobianos actuales y las escasas alternativas para combatir dicha resistencia. Entre esas alternativas se encuentra la terapía con fagos. Objetivos: El objetivo de este trabajo es exponer los avances de la fagoterapia frente a las bacterias resistentes. Metodología: El trabajo se trata de una revisión sistemática que examina la evidencia científica disponible a través de la base de datos Medline (Pubmed). Resultados y discusión: Tras realizar la búsqueda y el análisis de los artículos, se contó finalmente con 8 artículos. Existen múltiples mecanismos de resistencia de las bacterias frente a los antimicrobianos actuales, sin embargo, la fagoterapia es una alternativa prometedora frente a dicho problema. Conclusión: Los fagos son una alternativa prometedora frente a la resistencia bacteriana a los antimicrobianos convencionales. La combinación de los fagos y antibióticos es otra estrategia importante a tener en cuenta. A pesar de sus limitaciones, la fagoterapia muestra resultados positivos frente a los antimicrobianos
