La plaza de mercado como conector urbano-rural

Abstract

La historia cultural y económica de la localidad de Usme evidencia la transición a la que fue expuesta y tras la cual pasó de ser un eje fundamental en la distribución de bienes agrícolas para la capital a ser un barrio anexo de la ciudad, ocasionando un crecimiento desorganizado de la misma. Este documento plantea cómo los ajustes de los elementos urbanos y las operaciones arquitectónicas pueden dar respuesta a las problemáticas urbanas encontradas a partir del estudio y revisión documental de los antecedentes del lugar y que dio como resultado la propuesta de un Plan Parcial y el proyecto arquitectónico. El proyecto Plaza de Mercado IPSA plantea la consolidación del centro de Usme y promueve un orden urbano desde la plaza principal en relación con las manzanas adyacentes y su contexto rural y natural, generando no solo un punto de apoyo a la economía local, sino también un centro organizador desde el cual la trama urbana corrige el crecimiento descentralizado.
