El trabajo pretende realizar una descripción del método para la determinación del índice de desleimiento – durabilidad de lutitas y otras rocas débiles y la comparación con ensayos similares utilizados para la evaluación de la resistencia al desgaste en agregados gruesos, analizando tanto sus ventajas como desventajas y lograr de esta manera proporcionar la información suficiente para el buen desarrollo de estos métodos de ensayo utilizados en la ingeniería de pavimentos.
