El mundo de la vida juvenil

Abstract

El capítulo plantea el concepto de juventud desde diferentes puntos de vista. Primero, muy someramente se aborda el aspecto biológico en el cual se destaca la edad; después se trata el concepto de juventud tomado del contexto sociohistórico como producto de las relaciones de poder en una determinada sociedad. Más adelante se presenta un contraste entre los jóvenes y el mundo adulto debido a que las expectativas de ambos son disímiles, ocasionando una pasividad en los primeros y una serie de reproches en los segundos. Se concluye que si los jóvenes se encuentran en libertad de actuar sus aportes al mundo son sorprendentes. Se expone además el planteamiento de múltiples corrientes sociológicas que estudian el comportamiento de las culturas juveniles, como son: la corriente sociológica del interaccionismo simbólico, la antropología urbana y la microsociología.
