Paridad de poder de compra regional en Colombia

Abstract

La paridad de poder adquisitivo (PPA) es una aproximación teórica con muchos antecedentes, que a partir del siglo XX, gracias a los planteamientos de Gustav Cassel (1918), fue adoptada como modelo de referencia general para medir la capacidad de compra de la moneda de un país respecto a otra, con el fin de establecer las diferencias relativas en torno al poder de adquisición de bienes y servicios, así como de intercambio entre los agentes de dos o más economías; o, del mismo modo, para establecer la tasa de cambio que permita comprar la misma canasta de bienes y servicios en otro país.
