Mercado laboral español

Abstract

[EN]The economic crisis that hit Spain meant a great increase of unemployment, however, we would make a mistake looking for the explanation to our unique labor problems in the crisis. In order to find answers to the deprivation of employment, long-term unemployment and job insecurity, we analyze the structural and conjunctural reasons and their different impact among the population groups that make up our labor market. In this study, we will present some of the main indicators of the labor market in order to provide more knowledge and perspectives on the current situation that has so destabilized the welfare state. Finally, to analyze how the productivity of our country in comparison with that of other countries is one of the main factors that determine the current situation, being one of the structural reasons that prevent a sustained labor and economic growth over time.
