Abstract

[ES] Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado (TFG) tiene el objetivo de estudiar la evolución del Sistema Monetario Internacional. Se pretende analizar los distintos patrones que han existido, desde el patrón oro hasta la moneda fiduciaria en la actualidad. Además, se realizará un estudio de distintos indicadores económicos durante la vigencia de cada patrón monetario, tratando de conocer qué efectos tiene en la economía. El trabajo comenzará analizando los tipos de patrón oro para posteriormente conocer distintos acontecimientos que interrumpieron el patrón oro. Se analizará el sistema que se aplicó por los acuerdos de Bretton Woods, su evolución y su desenlace. A continuación se estudiarán las reglas de Jamaica y el sistema monetario actual, sus consecuencias y la evolución del dólar y la economía estadounidense. Por último, se compararán los distintos patrones por medio de los indicadores económicos entre 1891 y 1989.

[EN] This Final Project aims to analyze the evolution of the International Monetary System. We are going to analyze the different standards which have been, since the gold standard until the fiduciary money nowadays. Furthermore, we will make a study about the different economic indicators during the validity of each monetary standard, trying to find out their influence in the economy. The Project will begin analyzing the different gold standard, and then we will know the different happenings that interrupted the gold standard. We will study the Bretton Woods Monetary System, its evolution and ending. Later, we will know the Jamaica rules and the current monetary system, the consequences and the development of the dollar and the American economy. Finally, we will compare the different standards through the economic indicators between 1891 and 1989.
