Abstract

[EN] The international financial crisis that originated around the year 2007, has affected many countries causing serious imbalances in the real economy. The European Central Bank (ECB) and other central banks have been forced to take measures to try to mitigate its consequences and insure the desired price stability, besides to extract important lessons from the experience to face an uncertain future. The aim of this work is to analyze the measures in monetary policy that have been adopted (both conventional and unconventional) by the european monetary authorities and to study the effects caused by them. We also discuss some future challenges for the ECB´s monetary policy.
