Abstract

Do not know the capacity of stocking of any territory and especially a farm dedicated to cattle is a real problem both economic and environmental problems such an erosion, loss of biodiversity, increased financial outlays when feed livestock emerge. We have made a study of the capacity of stocking on a farm called “El Cotillo”. This is a farm dedicated to raising and exploit the bull, located in the municipality of Carboneros ( Jaén ). The method used for field data collection has been using linear transects with the method ``point quadrat´´ (Fillat et al., 2008). And the method used for calculating the stocking has been the method of pastoral value Daget & 5 Poissonet (1979) used the specific quality index of each taxon (Is) and the specific contribution (Cs). Finally, by applying this method on that farm, we obtained a value of capacity resulting load of 0.1 in the case of livestock units (UGM) and 0.9 Units Sheep (UGO), these data are accruing to hectare of study.
