Abstract

El objetivo del presente estudio se centra en analizar la relación entre la ansiedad social y distintas variables, como la autoestima, la asertividad o el afrontamiento de problemas, entre otros. Para ello se utilizó una muestra de 124 sujetos con edades comprendidas entre los 8 y los 12 años. Se utilizaron los instrumentos: SASC-R (para la evaluación de la ansiedad social), A-EP (para medir la autoestima), CABS-II (para medir la asertividad), EAN (para medir afrontamiento), APQ (para la evaluación de la percepción que tienen del estilo educativo de sus padres) y un breve cuestionario sociodemográfico en el cual se les pedía datos como edad, sexo, si eran hijos únicos o si vivían con sus dos progenitores. Los resultados mostraron una relación inversa entre ansiedad social y variables como autoestima, implicación de los padres o asertividad. Se ha visto una relación positiva con variables como pasividad, afrontamiento improductivo de problemas, disciplina inconsistente o castigo físico, y en cambio, no se ha encontrado relación entre ansiedad social y variables como sexo, ser hijo único, paternidad positiva o afrontamiento centrado en el problema.

This study focuses on the relationship between social anxiety and other variables, as self-esteem, assertiveness and coping with problems, among others. For this purpose a sample of 124 subjects aged between 8 and 12 years was used. Instruments were used: SASC-R (for assessing social anxiety), A-EP (to measure self-esteem), CABS-II (to measure assertiveness), EAN (to measure coping), APQ (for evaluation the perception of the educational style of their parents) and a brief demographic questionnaire in which they were asked data such as age, sex, if they were only children or if they lived with both parents. The results showed an inverse relationship between social anxiety and variables such as self-esteem, parental involvement or assertiveness. Has been a positive relationship with variables such as passivity, unproductive coping with problems, inconsistent discipline or physical punishment, however, was not found relationship between social anxiety and variables such as sex, being an only child, positive parenting or coping focused on the problem.
