Parto domiciliario, ¿una elección de futuro?

Abstract

Nowadays, there is a discussion about the place where birth are producing because in this moment there is a return to home birth and many more couples choose home birth instead of giving in hospitals due to interventionism and medicalization of hospital birth. These couples looking an attention more personalized and participatory to birth. The rate of domiciliary birth in developed countries are less than 1%. In Spain, the attention to birth is almost exclusively hospital. The main objective is to know the risks and benefits of giving births at home, as well as know maternal and neonatal complications of birth domiciliary, define the reasons by women choose this tendency and establish the characteristics of women that choose delivery home. Most authors agree that the results of both as maternal and as perinatal health are suitable for home birth. The majority of birth in field domiciliary are vaginal deliveries. It is suggested doing more research about this subject in order for couples to be well informed about the risks and benefits of giving birth at home.
