Abstract

The process of genetic identification based on ancient bone remains and their consequent degree of degradation is a challenge for the field of Forensic Genetics. Technological advances have solved many of the problems that could arise to obtain results. All this has improved the obtaining of results in reference to the task of identifying the victims of the Spanish Civil War and Postwar, of which we are going to analyze in this work, updating the results obtained up to now. The process for obtaining these results is described, from their extraction with the different methods to obtaining the genetic profile, going through the different amplification methods with the different kits for it. This research project is being developed in the Genetic Identification Laboratory of the University of Granada. The final objective of this Laboratory project is to identify the greatest possible number of victims from the exhumation of graves and relate them to samples from relatives.
