In this work, we will carry out a study about web applications, which are increasingly present in our day to day. To do this, we will first focus on seeing what a web application is and its differences with a desktop application, as well as what are the main types of existing web applications according to the user's need that they solve. To do the above, we have highlighted four types of them, which will be studied in depth, these are: content managers, web office automation tools, distance education platforms and web file management services. Once the topic in question has been developed, in the second part of the work a didactic unit will be carried out for its development within a class of 4th ESO, specifically for the subject of TIC.
