Abstract

In the following study, the development of a psychoeducational program based in the Unified protocol has been carried out. This model bases its interventions in the approach and joint work of those symptoms that appear together in some psychological disorders and which are related to each other; all of this has as its purpose the achievement of a global improvement in those people who demand therapeutic services. The program took 7 group sessions. In those sessions, the investigator works with the participants giving them orientation and information about anxiety and depression. And also providing them with techniques about relaxation, anxiety and stress control. The program described in the following pages was employed to reduce subclinical levels of depression and anxiety symptoms in a sample of 6 male participants within 23-28 years with positive results because the data show positive changes in aspects like depression, asertivity, self-esteem and irrational thoughts.
