Abstract

The progressive aging of industrialized countries, among which is Spain, is producing a significant increase in the incidence of diseases associated with aging among which is Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other dementias. This creates a great demand for family caregivers needed to meet the needs of these people who cannot fend for themselves. There is scientific evidence which says that the care of a dependent person for a prolonged period of time causes serious health problems, a fact that has led us to undertake this program to anyone who is found responsible for an elderly dependent diagnosed disease Alzheimer's or dementia. The main objective of the program is to reduce the burden of caregivers by theoretical contents and practical over 6 sessions.
