Abstract

[EN] Having a stoma supposes changes in the patient that affect him at biopsychosocial level and that requires great effort and adaptation to this new situation. We believe that nurses should play an important role in this process, and that is why, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life, we have designed this health education program aimed at colostomized and ileostomized patients over 14 years and their relatives. After a previous bibliographic search, four group workshops and four individual interviews were set as the central part of the program, whose purpose is to provide support, information and formation. Finally, we have developed an evaluation system to check the quality of the program at all levels, such as activities, teachers, resources and short- and long-term objectives.
