Abstract

Traditional fairy tales make up one of the key tools that have been used in teaching, as a way to transmit educational values whose goal has been based on the good development of the pupils’ learning process. Nevertheless, children stories have been gone through the evolution of the litterary genre in different ways and with a different perception depending on the time. This stories are filled with discriminatory and sexist values characterized by gender stereotypes, sexist conventionalism and imposed ideologies which end up by making an impact on the individuals and changing their view of the society. The aim of this work is to analyze, and explain how the transmission of social inequalities and sexism in children stories is and how has it been. Finally, this work seeks to address and provide knowledge about the socio-cultural and litterary reflection proposed by traditional fairy tales on the world of children.
