UTILIZACIÓN DE RESIDUOS DE LA INDUSTRIA DE LA MADERA PARA LA FABRICACIÓN DE MORTEROS SOSTENIBLES

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es aprovechar los residuos que producen de la industria de la madera como sustitutivo de arena en la fabricación de morteros. Se han estudiado las propiedades físicas y mecánicas de morteros sostenibles para distintos porcentajes de serrín, 0, 5, 10, 15, 20 % en volumen, sin pretratar y pretratado con una disolución acuosa del 10 % de hidróxido cálcico a tiempos de curado de 7 y 28 días. Los resultados indican que la incorporación de serrín pretratado y sin pretratar mejora las propiedades físicas de los materiales de construcción obteniendo morteros con menor densidad aparente y menor absorción de agua por capilaridad, disminuyendo las propiedades mecánicas de resistencia a flexión y compresión a medida que se incrementan mayores cantidades de residuo. Los mejores valores se obtienen con la incorporación del 5% de serrín pretratado.
