EMBARAZOS EN ADOLESCENTES DE ETNIA GITANA

Abstract

In this Final Project, a bibliographic review on adolescent pregnancy in the gypsy population is presented. It is intended to address this issue due to the problems and risks involved in pregnancy at an early age. Adolescent pregnancy is characterized by being a period of transition and great instability and uncertainty that involve different areas of adolescent life. Addressing motherhood at an early age has a significant impact on the economic, social, emotional, academic and work levels, although it must be taken into account that the cultural context and the social group to which each adolescent belongs greatly influence the character and magnitude of these consequences, as well as socio-economic levels and social, family and personal environments. In teenage pregnancies it is necessary to be attentive since motherhood can affect the correct development of both the mother and the child.
