La sociedad española, a través de los Nuevos Movimientos Sociales (NMS), ha mostrado las contradicciones del actual sistema social. La ciudadanía se ha unido colectivamente, con la finalidad de defender la conservación de los Derechos Sociales y del Estado de Bienestar. En dicho panorama, el Trabajo Social, como propulsor de trasformaciones sociales, debe crear alianzas para producir sinergias con los NMS. Mediante esta revisión bibliográfica destacamos la importancia que tienen los NMS para el fortalecimiento del Estado de Bienestar, así como la necesidad de mejorar algunos aspectos, como es la participación de los trabajadores/as sociales en dichos movimientos y la creación de espacios comunes que favorezcan el intercambio de buenas prácticas. Ante el reto de la actual sociedad, cada vez más desigual e injusta, es de vital importancia que el Trabajo Social busque aliados para crear una sociedad más justa donde este asegurado el bienestar social de todos los individuos

Spanish society, through the New Social Movements, has put in contradiction the current social system. Citizens have united collectively forming these movements, with the aim of defending the conservation of Social Rights and the Welfare State. In this scenario, Social Work, as a promoter of social transformation, must create alliances to produce synergies with the NMS. Through this bibliographic review we highlight the importance of the New Social Movements for the strengthening of the Social Welfare State, as well as the need to improve some aspects such as the participation of social workers in these movements and the creation of common spaces that encourage the exchange of good practices. Facing the challenge that the current society, increasingly unequal and unjust, it is vitally important that social work seeks support and thus creates a more just society where the social welfare of all individuals is ensured.
