The present work will deal with one of the several topics that still being invisible nowadays in our society: intersexual people. This investigation will essay to construct an analysis that establishes controversy in attendance to the socially conformed sex/genre binarism, accepted and reproduced. An analysis that questions the legal medical practices towards which intersexual people have to challenge. Likewise, there will be open disputes as the one concerning genital mutilation to which many intersexual people are exposed to in Occident, who, on the other hand, refuse the feminine genital mutilation in Africa. Furthermore, it will be analyse the intersexual question from a queer and feminist perspective from which we will keep on insisting in the construction of the critical paradigm of this bibliographical review. And finally, it will be proposed the labour that the Social Work can and must accomplish in this question.

El presente trabajo versará sobre uno de los tantos temas que en la actualidad siguen invisibilizados: las personas intersexuales. Esta investigación tratará de realizar un análisis que genere controversia con el binarismo sexo/género socialmente conformado, aceptado y reproducido. Un análisis que ponga en entredicho las prácticas médicas legales a las que se enfrentan las personas intersexuales. Asimismo, se abrirán algunos debates como la mutilación de genitales a la que muchas personas intersexuales se ven expuestas en Occidente, quien, por otra parte, rechaza la mutilación genital femenina en países africanos. Se analizará, además, la cuestión intersexual en torno a una mirada feminista y queer desde la que se seguirá insistiendo en la construcción del paradigma crítico de esta revisión bibliográfica. Y, por último, se propondrá la labor que el Trabajo Social puede y debe realizar en lo referente a esta cuestión.
