COMPOSITORAS ESPAÑOLAS: REPERTORIO MUSICAL PARA FLAUTA TRAVESERA DESDE 1915 HASTA LA ACTUALIDAD

Abstract

The contribution of Spanish women composers to the repertoire for Flute has been pushed along the history into the background by their male counterparts, being away from the teaching music programs of schools and the stage. The technical flute development reaches its highest point in the late nineteenth century, leading to the creation of a huge collection of masterworks. This dissertation addresses the female musical creation in Spain from 1915 to the present, starting from the study of social and cultural conditions in which it occurs and focusing the interest in the classified works for this instrument relying on a comprehensive musical and teaching analysis. The purpose of this research is the visibility and dissemination of an interesting file of compositions, an essential part of our history and future musical training.
