Abstract

[ES] La salinidad es uno de lo estreses abióticos más importantes, ya que causa un descenso en el crecimiento y productividad de las plantas. El olivo es considerado moderadamente tolerante a la salinidad, aunque su tolerancia depende del cultivar. Por tanto, la selección y el uso de cultivares tolerantes puede ser de utilidad. En el presente trabajo, se estudió el mecanismo de tolerancia a la salinidad de seis cultivares de olivo (Casta Cabra, Cornicabra, Frantoio, Ocal, Picual y Picudo), particularmente del cultivar Picual. Además, se analizaron los cambios en los parámetros de crecimiento, parámetros de intercambio gaseoso, composición química y síntomas de estrés oxidativo causados por la salinidad. Además, se ha estudiado el papel de algunas fitohormonas en la mejora del estrés salino en el cultivar Picual.

[EN]Salinity is one of the most important abiotic stresses, causing decrease on plant growth and productivity. Olive is considered as having medium tolerance to salts and this is dependent on cultivar. Thus, selection and use of tolerant cultivars would be a useful means to face salinity problems in the olive culture. In the present work, the mechanism of salt tolerance in six olive cultivars (Casta Cabra, Cornicabra, Frantoio, Ocal, Picual, and Picudo) were studied, particularly in the cultivar Picual. Further, changes caused by NaCl on several growth parameters, gas exchange, chemical composition, and oxidative-stress symptoms have been measured. Also, in this work, the role of some phytohormones in alleviating salinity stress in cultivar Picual has been studied
