A vueltas con Andrés de Vandelvira en la iglesia de Mancha Real

Abstract

A partir de unos dibujos inéditos de Andrés de Vandelvira para la construcción de una capilla en la Iglesia Parroquial de Mancha Real (Jaén) y la documentación anexa, existente en el Archivo Diocesano de la Catedral de Jaén, se analizan soluciones de alzado que se repiten en otras iglesias de la diócesis (Sabiote) y de todo el muro sur en que se abre la portada lateral fechada en 1575, de clara impronta vandelviriana, siguiendo un modelo triunfal que emana de la portada de la iglesia de San Miguel de Jaén, aunque con solución porticada no realizada o desaparecida. Así mismo los dibujos confirman el uso de los soportes columnarios, empleados también en otros templos de la provincia, como el de Rus, que hoy sabemos asimismo es diseño de Vandelvira, aunque en el caso de Mancha Real, creemos que pudieran ser terminados o perfilados posteriormente.
