Liquidez en el sector automotriz

Abstract

Existe literatura sobre los niveles de caja que las compañías deberían mantener y diversos autores han delineado los motivos fundamentales por los que se mantiene caja excedente. Asimismo, se han diseñado modelos matemáticos que relacionan los niveles de liquidez con otras variables, tamaño, rentabilidad, existencia de proyectos de inversión, costo de endeudarse, entre otros. El presente trabajo se centra en la industria automotriz a nivel corporativo. Se analiza el estado actual de liquidez de las compañías seleccionadas y se las compara con otras firmas que cotizan en S&P500. Mediante el modelo ‘The determinants and implications of corporate cash holdings’ (Opler et al. 1999) se identificarán los motivos por los cuales se mantienen los distintos niveles de liquidez.
