Inteligencia cultural en las multinacionales

Abstract

La inteligencia cultural es de suma importancia para los tiempos actuales debido al proceso de adaptación que deben tener los expatriados al entrar a una multinacional. En este sentido, las compañías deben fomentar en sus trabajadores la diversidad de conocimientos sobre la nueva cultura a la cual llegan para que de este modo logren un buen desempeño. Esta investigación pretende analizar la importancia de la inteligencia cultural con un enfoque hacia las multinacionales en diversos países, evaluando el efecto de esta en el desempeño de los expatriados. Para el marco teórico, utilizamos modelos conceptuales relacionados con la inteligencia cultural, valores culturales, ajuste de expatriados y desempeño. En cuanto a la metodología se utilizó un estudio de tres casos de expatriados colombianos que trabajan en multinacionales. Los resultados más relevantes muestran que para que los expatriados tengan un buen desempeño en sus trabajos deben de adaptarse a su nuevo entorno, poseer conocimiento cultural y del idioma, y motivación para conocer otras culturas.
