Economía y preferencias redistributivas

Abstract

La teoría social ha redefinido el concepto del Homo economicus, un individuo cuyo único interés resulta de maximizar puramente su propio bienestar, para dar paso a la idea de que en el hombre prevalecen preocupaciones por la justicia y las preferencias sociales que suponen actos altruistas en sus interacciones con otros. Esto es entre otras cosas, el fundamento de la existencia de Estados Sociales de Derecho y los esquemas de bienestar que implican el diseño de políticas de redistribución de ingresos y prosperidad. Este documento además de analizar la hipótesis alterna al homo economicus, la existencia de heterogeneidad en materia de preferencias sociales, tiene también por objeto caracterizar y evaluar el desempeño del gobierno colombiano en la disminución de la inequidad en el país.
