Reacciones severas de hipersensibilidad a medicamentos

Abstract

Las reacciones de hipersensibilidad representan hasta un tercio de los eventos adversos relacionados con medicamentos. Pueden afectar hasta un 15% de los pacientes hospitalizados, aunque la mayoría de las veces no son reportadas. Según diferentes series, la mortalidad debida a reacciones por medicamentos varia del 0.32% al 1.2%. Las reacciones de hipersensibilidad que más frecuentemente causa la muerte son la necrólisis epiderminca tóxica (NET), el síndrome de hipersensibilidad con compromiso sistémico o DRESS, por su nombre inglés (rug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms), el síndrome de Stevens Johnson (SSJ) y el choque anafiláctico
